April 29: For Two Jews from Philadelphia – A Personal Holocaust Remembrance Day

Gross, Passuello and Greenbaum, March 2017

April 24, 2017 is honored in Israel as Holocaust Remembrance Day…but for two Jewish men in Philadelphia, April 29 is the day that they celebrate a personal Holocaust Remembrance.

One, Ernie Gross, born in Europe, the other, Don Greenbaum, in the USA, lived worlds apart until April 29, 1945, when their lives intersected at the most unlikely of places.

The two spoke at the Central PA WWII Round Table in March, 2017.  Passuello is a Board Member of the 600+ member organization.
