This tour was initiated & crafted by historian & Vietnam Veteran Jim Mahoney, a retired Colonel, United States Army. Jim will jointly lead this expedition with his personally selected Vietnamese translator and guide, whose parents witnessed the war in South Vietnam. And you’ll hear from a second Vietnam Veteran traveling with the group, who served near the DMZ. Enjoy visits to several UNESCO World Heritage sites, like beautiful Halong Bay, and Old Quarter Hanoi. In addition to the Vietnam War history, the robust itinerary includes culture and cuisine, the tapestry of traditions, and “people to people” experiences like “market day” and “lacquer painting.” Inter-country air reduces travel time and affords a bird’s eye view of the lush countryside and mountains, and sparkling South China Sea.
