Band of Brothers 
 70th Anniversary of Market Garden

This commemorative “Band of Brothers” itinerary was the trip of a lifetime for forty-two travelers.

Day 6 – What one traveler thought.

Groesbeek – Two hundred 82nd Airborne Paras made a commemorative jump, out of C-130’s doing a “race track” circuitous route, discharging paratroopers on each pass.

Nuenen, east of Eindhoven. The Mayor expressed gratitude for US soldiers who liberated the town in September, 1944, during Operation Market-Garden.

Near Son & Best, NE,  we met 101st paratrooper Gene Gilbreath, returning to his 1944 “drop zone,” where homeowners maintain a collection of memorabilia in honor of their liberators.

Margraten, the American Cemetery of the Netherlands, one traveler, Susan Alexander, pays tribute to her uncle, Thomas Cordes, killed during Operation Varsity.                (I kept my distance; turn up your volume.)
